Job Description

The House of Commons’ Procedural Services is currently looking to staff the Business Intelligence Analyst position.

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in transforming complex data into actionable insights. Using data analytics, data visualization, and data modeling techniques, you will identify trends and extract meaningful information that empowers managers and executives to make informed decisions, modernize operations, and improve processes.

You will support Procedural Services by helping to establish a comprehensive business metrics framework, including the development of dashboards that track key performance indicators and other critical metrics.

In addition, this position is responsible for leading and executing moderately complex business analysis projects related to the ongoing development and enhancement of Procedural Services’ systems, applications, technology tools, and processes.

This recruitment and selection process is restricted to House of Commons Administration employees.

Qualifications

Education :

  • Post-secondary education from a recognized institution in an Information Technology, computer science or other related field, OR acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.

Experiences :

  • Experience in data manipulation and analysis as well as business intelligence, with significant experience in designing and developing reports, dashboards and insights.
  • Experience with BI platforms (ex. Power BI, SQL, Phyton/R).
  • Experience with process analysis and documentation, tools and techniques.
  • Experience providing operational/strategic reporting solutions.
  • Knowledge of database management systems.
  • Strong ability to work autonomously.

Asset :

  • Knowledge of Procedural Services operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage business users.
