Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Network Security Engineer to join our IT security team in Brussels. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructures, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure network architectures (LAN, WAN, VPN, cloud)
• Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, and network security tools
• Monitor network traffic and investigate security incidents
• Perform vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and remediation activities
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations
• Maintain documentation, procedures, and network diagrams
• Participate in incident response and on-call rotations when required

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience as a Network Security Engineer or similar role
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocols
• Hands-on experience with firewalls (e.g. Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco), VPNs, and network segmentation
• Experience with security monitoring and incident response
• Fluent Dutch (spoken and written) – mandatory
• Good working knowledge of English

Nice to Have

• Certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent
• Experience with cloud security (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Knowledge of Zero Trust, NAC, and SASE concepts
• Familiarity with Belgian or EU security and compliance standards
