Job Title: Android developer

Location: Remote (needs to be occasionally onsite in Portland, OR every few weeks)

Duration: 6+ months contract (potential extension)

Max Pay rate: $60-65/hr. on w2

You’ll join the Design Technology & UX Research team, working closely with designers, researchers, and cross-functional engineering partners. You’ll build and ship features for a high-scale Android app used by millions, owning feature parity across Android, iOS, and web.

You’ll collaborate with the mobile architecture team to deliver high-quality, maintainable software, supported by strong CI/CD, testing, documentation, and code reviews.

The role is highly collaborative, partnering with researchers, data analysts, product managers, and designers to create intuitive, research-driven experiences. You’ll also contribute technical input during planning and reviews to help scope, estimate, and prioritize work.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar technical degree, with 2 or more years of experience designing and developing Android applications.
• Broad knowledge of design patterns and technologies used in designing Android applications.
• Proficiency and hands-on experiences in Android development and Kotlin.
• Working knowledge of tools such as Jira, Git, X-Code, debugging and profiling is required.
• Experience integrating with web services using HTTP / JSON / OpenAPI / TCP/IP, as well as knowledge about databases.
• Hands on experience with survey software or form builders is a plus.
• Experience with building AI-enabled front-end applications is a plus.
