Type: Full-time

Design with Purpose and Impact

We’re equ, WA’s longest-standing digital agency, now evolving into a bold digital consultancy. For 25+ years we’ve delivered with integrity, partnered with some of WA’s most influential organisations, and built a reputation for thoughtful, human-centred digital experiences.

We’re proudly independent, WA-owned, and run by people who work in the business every day. No egos. No silos. Just a team of curious, clever, design-obsessed humans who genuinely care about the work, and each other.

If you want to design work that matters, collaborate with people who value craft, and shape the future of digital in WA, you’ll feel right at home here.

About the Role

As a Senior Designer at equ, you’ll shape experiences that create real impact. You’ll work across UX, UI, and Service Design, using research, creativity, and systems thinking to bring clarity to complex problems.

In this role, you will:

  • Design exceptional experiences: Run research, map journeys, prototype ideas, and craft beautiful, user-centred interfaces that show what “great” truly looks like.
  • Lead with influence: Facilitate workshops, co-design with clients, and guide projects with a strong, thoughtful design perspective.
  • Elevate the team and the craft: Mentor mindset for designers and uplift capability, set quality standards, and play a role in shaping a collaborative, creative team culture.
  • Bring clarity to complexity: Navigate ambiguity, untangle messy problems, and communicate insights and direction with confidence.
  • Partner with clients at a senior level: Work directly with stakeholders to identify opportunities, define strategic direction, and demonstrate the value of great design.

About You

You’re a designer with depth. Thoughtful, curious, and seasoned. Someone who can zoom in and perfect the details…and zoom out to reframe the whole problem.

You have…

  • +6 years’ experience across UX/UI (websites, apps, digital products, ecosystems).
  • A proven ability to mentor, guide, and elevate other designers.
  • Strength across the full design cycle: research, IA, journeys, prototyping, testing, UI, and delivery.
  • A portfolio that shows thinking, not just visuals. Real problems solved. Real outcomes created.
  • Fluency with Figma, Miro, and the usual design toolkit.
  • A genuine care for people, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • This is not a remote role. Local candidates only please.

You’re someone who brings energy, curiosity, and clarity. Someone who loves the craft and the impact it can create.

Personal Skills:

  • An exceptional team player.
  • Demonstrates a positive disposition, even when faced with challenges.
  • A confident communicator and presenter who is comfortable facilitating client and user workshops.
  • Have the emotional intelligence to embrace constructive feedback when required.
  • Have excellent time-management skills, and a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and juggle competing priorities.
