We are Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystems, a distinctive strategy department within Group Strategy & Innovation at Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI), headquartered in Vienna. Unlike traditional strategy teams, we go beyond advisory and support: we actively drive innovation by running our own POCs and even building products that shape the future of RBI Group. Our current focus is at the intersection of blockchain/digital assets, AI and electronic identities, where we identify high-impact use cases, test new concepts and propose forward-thinking solutions. As our mandate evolves, we are poised to expand into new technology domains, continually translating emerging trends into tangible business value across the organization.

Your role:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive tokenization strategy for RBI

  • Bridge traditional asset management and custody with innovative tokenized models, defining how RBI can compete in a digital asset landscape.

  • Align with business lines, compliance and legal to create actionable implementation roadmaps.

  • Identify, scope and prioritize tokenization use cases and lead POCs/MVPs, shaping business cases and facilitating handovers into delivery.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure regulatory compliance and scalable execution.

  • Expand your impact by exploring adjacent emerging tech domains (e.g., AI-enabled banking, digital identity, data platforms, tech driven business models) as the role evolves.

  • Lead horizon scanning, opportunity assessments and cross-domain POCs, contributing to group playbooks and standards.

  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops and governance to ensure alignment and momentum.

Your profile:

  • Expertise in traditional asset management, including asset classes (bonds, certificates, equities, fund shares), issuance, custody and core processes, paired with the ability to compare and contrast these with digital asset/tokenization models.

  • Strong working knowledge of tokenization, crypto market structures and emerging business models in digital assets.

  • Proven ability to articulate, assess and communicate new business models, translating between business, technology and risk/compliance stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience driving initiatives or POCs from concept to decision in regulated financial environments.

  • Excellent moderation, stakeholder alignment and executive communication skills.

  • Breadth and learning agility: genuine curiosity and willingness to expand beyond tokenization into other emerging tech domains; T-shaped profile with deep expertise in tokenization and broad capability to rapidly learn and evaluate new areas.

  • German and English fluency - both at least on Level C1

Nice to have:

  • Experience at an asset manager with a strong interest in digital assets or at a crypto exchange, broker or at a neo-bank with asset management focus.

  • Familiarity with the EU regulatory landscape (e.g., MiCAR, DLT Pilot, MiFID II, AML/KYC, TFR etc.).

  • Exposure to design thinking, lean experimentation, vendor due diligence and partnership models.

  • Background in banking, asset management, market infrastructure strategy/technology consulting.

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
