We’re looking for a Data Scientist to take ownership of our Eldorado.gg’s offer ranking and recommendation algorithms. This role sits at the very core of the product: what users see, what they click, and what they buy. You’ll work closely with backend developers and product owners to design, ship, and iterate on ranking logic that runs continuously at scale.

👉 BREAKDOWN:

• Analyze current heuristic ranking to identify weaknesses and conversion drivers;
• Run A/B tests on weight adjustments, new signals, randomization strategies;
• Build data instrumentation: log impressions, clicks, conversions with position/context;
• Generate training datasets from logged user interactions;
• Establish offline evaluation framework (NDCG, MAP) and online testing protocols;
• Build initial supervised models and compare against heuristic baselines;
• Deploy learning-to-rank models with gradual rollout and monitoring;
• Architect scalable ranking stack: candidate generation → scoring → re-ranking;
• Define long-term ML roadmap and establish data science best practices.

👉 SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

• 2+ years in data science or ML engineering;
• Data analysis & experimentation: SQL, pandas for exploratory analysis, A/B testing methodology, statistical significance, metric interpretation;
• Feature engineering: design and compute signals from raw data (seller behavior, offer characteristics, user context);
• Python ML fundamentals;
• Pragmatic iteration: comfortable improving heuristics before jumping to ML, knowing when simple beats complex;
• System thinking: design data pipelines and evaluation frameworks that scale, not just one-off analyses;
• Ownership mindset: define multi-phase roadmap from current state to production ML;
• Fluency in both English and Lithuanian (written and spoken);
• Communication: explain ranking tradeoffs and experiment results to product and engineering teams.

• Production LTR experience: deployed learning-to-rank models in search, recommendations, or ads;
• Feature stores: Feast, Tecton, or custom feature serving infrastructure;

• Marketplace or ecommerce experience;
• Passion for video games and gaming culture.
