Your role

As a Product Designer at Abacum, you’ll help craft an intuitive, flexible UX/UI for our FP&A platform, making it the most user-friendly solution on the market.

You’ll be part of our Abacum Design team, working closely with Product Managers and Engineering to bring innovative and thoughtful solutions to life.

What you'll do:

Understand the problem space. Become a subject-matter expert of user problems and platform limitations within the scope of your squad and our supported workflows.

  • Explore design concepts. Create design concepts considering user and business problems, technical requirements, and stakeholder inputs. Visually communicate them through wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
  • Deliver viable solutions. Propose consistent and intuitive design solutions considering end-to-end workflows. Collect stakeholder inputs often to iterate fast. Document flows and specs for seamless handover to engineers.
  • Conduct evaluative research. Conduct user interviews and usability testing to uncover UX issues of solutions before and/or after implementation. Document findings and ideas for improvements.
  • Assess usability. Continuously assess the usability of the product through hands-on usage or observation. Document and categorize issues and ideas, and connect them to company objectives and the roadmap.
  • Contribute to the design system. Maintain and improve the Figma design library. Document components and design patterns. Propose additions and improvements.
  • Contribute to the discipline. Within the design discipline, help define and conduct rituals, refine tools and ways of working, and participate in the hiring process.

Who you are

  • You are efficient, proactive, and thrive in fast-paced environments. You can wear many hats, juggle shifting priorities, and take end-to-end ownership of projects. Optimally, you have been part of an early-stage startup.
  • You have deep and up-to-date knowledge of UX principles and UI patterns. You’re frequently adopting new methodologies and tools (e.g. code, animation).
  • Your are a logical thinker, you enjoy understanding, visualizing and simplifying complex systems — from financial models to our platform’s backend.
  • You understand the fundamentals of software development, particularly in front-end development, and know how to create efficient and scalable UI solutions (not in code).
  • Portfolio: We are looking for potential and attitude over experience. Does not need real client work, but must show a few case studies demonstrating problem-solving process and solid visual UI skills.
  • Tooling: Expert proficiency in Figma and Design Systems
  • Language: Professional English (Essential) + Spanish/Catalan (nice to have)
