At SmartX, we are rewriting the backend of a huge live streaming platform towards SaaS architecture. You'll be part of the entire lifecycle of the project, starting from designing the architecture up to deploying the code on production.

The Challenge:

What you should know: this is not your usual platform. It has to face heavy traffic (55 mil. unique users/month, 400 million page views, 25k concurrent users every second), live video streaming (webRTC, HLS), fast loading website. We have around 120+ microservices built so far.

This might be the place for you if:

You have

• 6+ years experience in software development and object-oriented programming with focus on Java programming and Spring Framework;

• 2+ years of experience developing multithreaded applications;

• Previous experience coaching and mentoring other developers;

• Worked before with application servers;

• Good understanding of REST;

• Experience with ORM (we use Hibernate);

• Worked with RabbitMQ or message brokers

• Good knowledge of CI/CD;

You might also have

• Experience with high traffic / high load environments;

• SaaS exposure;

• Familiar with microservices;

• Familiarity with technologies like Firebase, Mongo, Wowza;

• Previous knowledge of SQL and NOSQL databases;

• Worked before with the ELK stack;

• A creative approach to problem-solving comes hand in hand with systematic and quick thinking.

Your main responsibilities:

• Work in an agile team to build a scalable, reliable and secure software;

• Design, develop, deploy, integrate various features into existing or new products;

• Develop web applications with performance and stability in mind;

• Contribute to load balancing configurations, distributed servers and replicated databases;

• Actively participate in peer code reviews and contribute to improving the codebase;

• Propose and advocate for best practices and design changes;

• Ensure that technical software development process is followed on the project, familiar with industry best practices for software development;
