Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Backend Developer. You will help scale DSALTA’s core APIs, authentication layer, and data infrastructure. You’ll work closely with product and frontend teams to deliver secure, reliable, production-grade features.

What You’ll Do

• Backend Services & APIs: Build and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Data Layer Ownership: Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, handle migrations, and improve performance through indexing and tuning.
• Auth & Permissions: Implement secure authentication and authorization flows (OAuth, sessions/tokens, permissions).
• Integrations: Build and maintain integrations with third-party APIs and internal services.
• Reliability & Performance: Improve stability via monitoring, debugging, alerting, and performance optimization.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product and frontend teams to ship end-to-end workflows.
• Startup Ownership: Move fast, take ownership, and help shape foundational backend patterns and best practices.

Must Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Strong experience with Node.js + TypeScript
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and database design best practices
• Solid understanding of API design, security fundamentals, and backend architecture
• Comfortable in a startup environment: ownership, speed, and clear communication

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ORMs (Prisma or similar)
• Experience with OAuth integrations (Google, Microsoft) and RBAC
• Familiarity with Docker-based development and CI/CD workflows
• Experience building production-grade validation and error-handling patterns
