About the Position
We are seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our high-growth software company. Our ideal candidate has a solid background in computer science or engineering, at least 3 years of experience developing web applications, and a passion for building impactful software.
This is a remote role open to candidates based in Nova Scotia, Canada.
What you'll do
- Play a leadership role by living our values openly
- Participate in code reviews and pair programming
- Improve our developer tools, tests, processes, and technology
- Work with stakeholders to flesh out requirements and communicate tradeoffs in solutions
- Learn and innovate on new ideas by continually looking to improve how we work
- Plan and build product features that directly impact our customers
Requirements
- Strong familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (we use React and Next.js)
- Strong familiarity with web frameworks (we use Ruby on Rails)
- Experience working with databases and understanding of relational database concepts
- Demonstrated ability to build software that’s been used by real users—show us your portfolio or projects!
- A CS or Math degree is a bonus, but not required
- You care more about discovering "what is true" than being right
- Experience building for fun or exploring new technologies on your own is highly valued
- High ownership and real impact on a growing product
