Wood is currently recruiting for a Construction Interface Engineer to join the Shell Qatar GTL project in Doha, Qatar.
Responsibilities
Construction Interface Engineer will be responsible for :
- Support the engineering team during design development and ensure constructability is fully embedded in the design, with the focus on engineering in support of optimized (safe and cost & schedule efficient) execution.
- Provide input in the documents as described in section V “construction interfaces”.
- Independently prepare for workshops as described in section V “construction interfaces”, including pre read, lead the workshop and report out.
- Drive the implementation of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) in the portfolio.
- Ensure CSoW plan is prepared at the beginning of Define phase, identifying which scopes are combined in which CSoW (as per AWP).
- Deliver construction scope of work documents for the execute phase, which are issued to the Implementation contractor.
- The Construction Interface Engineer will also act as integrator to ensure timely alignment with MTAC construction team & Operations and ensure all comments are incorporated in the design and deliverables.
- The Construction Interface Engineer is familiar with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and willing to become skilled (through training)
- The Construction Interface Engineer will be office based but will visit site once a week to ensure close alignment with MTAC construction team and Operations and verify assumptions in engineering and constructability through site visits.

Experience
- BSc., University in Engineering
- Experience and Skill set
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil and Gas Industry
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas related project engineering position with multidiscipline work force
- Experience in both engineering Phase of the project as well as execution phase, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a construction role in execute phase.
