Analyse large amounts of raw information to independently undertake various analytics exercises. We will rely on the resource to build data products to extract valuable business insights. In this role, the candidate should have high analytical skills and high proficiency in BI tools. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. The candidate is expected to design, implement and maintain efficient BI solutions to enable the business groups to derive insights and make better decisions.
Key Tasks & Duties
Principal Accountabilities:
- Designing and implementing data model, database structures for building BI reports and dashboards
- SQL programming, data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SAP Data Services
- Creating and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
- Designing and building interactive reports, dashboards, and visualizations using BI Tools
- Collaborating with business users to understand requirements and deliver BI solutions
- Monitoring and optimizing the performance of databases and BI solutions
- Ensuring data security and implementing access controls
- Troubleshooting data-related issues and providing timely resolutions
- Responsible for data retrieval and analysis
- Documenting technical specifications, data processes, and solutions
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in BI
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with own immediate team. Establish trust and confidence with the business partner teams. Liaise with key stakeholders on MIS related activities and deliverables.
- Communication: Work with the team to communicate the reports/outputs to the business teams effectively
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Required:
- Expertise in SQL programming, data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, using SAP Data Services
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (SAP BO, Qlikview etc.) in an enterprise environment is critical to develop insightful reports and dashboards
- Proficiency in data modelling and data schemas
- Understanding of performance tuning, indexing, and data security for optimizing BI solutions
- Proficiency in concepts like database design and data warehousing concepts
- Understanding database operations and optimization for Oracle DB, Microsoft SQL Server etc.
- Understanding data and query optimization, query profiling, and query performance monitoring tools and techniques
- Creating and maintaining business requirements and other technical documentation
- Ability to analyze data trends, patterns, and anomalies to provide actionable insights
- Understanding of data security practices and implementation of role-based access controls
Functional:
- Ability to understand and translate business requirements into effective BI solutions
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with business users, data analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and present findings
- Skill in identifying data-related problems, troubleshooting issues, and devising effective solutions
- Understanding of the banking sector domain knowledge, especially retail banking (customer, transactions, network and e-channels) is a must. Exposure to corporate banking, Islamic banking and other institutional business will be an added advantage.
- Capability to document data processes, data dictionaries, and technical specifications for BI solutions
- Basic skills to plan, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in computer science/computer engineering/mathematics/Operations Research/etc. from good institutes
Experience
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience is required
- Professional qualifications/certifications in data science, business intelligence, and programming languages
- Track record that demonstrates technical and functional capabilities through use cases delivered in data analytics and business intelligence in the banking sector
- Detail oriented, good organizational, interpersonal, communication, presentation and writing skills
