Mission: Based in the Sydney head office the Project Manager – Permanent Projects role will be to work closely to bring brand expression to life in-store owning the execution of permanent fixtures, retail environments and premium build installs across Prestige & Niche portfolio across Oceania.


This newly created role reports into the Retail Design and Visual Merchandising Manager within the marketing team and connects brand vision to retail reality, ensuring every build reflects our marketing strategy, VM standards and commercial priorities while being delivered on time, on budget and with excellence.


A mix of project management, supplier coordination, design interpretation and retail execution, this person ensures the physical environment reinforces storytelling, drives visibility and enhances the customer journey.


Brands: Rabanne, Jean Paul Gaultier, Carolina Herrera, Penhaligons and L’Artisan Parfumeur.


Functions and Responsibilities:

Retail & VM Execution:

  • Translate global VM and brand direction into physical environments suitable for ANZ retail
  • Execute permanent fixture rollouts for Department Stores, SMCs + future channels
  • Work with VM and Marketing teams to ensure physical builds support brand campaigns, launches and commercial priorities


Project Management & Development:

  • Own project timelines from brief, design development, build, installation and reporting
  • Manage fixture packs, technical drawing approvals, prototype samples and adaptations for local formats
  • Coordinate install schedules, access, logistics and onsite support when needed.
  • Ensure all builds comply with retailer requirements, landlord specifications and local regulations including safety and accessibility guidelines.


Stakeholder Alignment & Communication:

  • Serve as the bridge between global design teams, marketing, retailers and partners
  • Provide ongoing visibility on project status, risks, spend, timelines and approvals
  • Present builds, progress and post-evaluation learnings in marketing forums.


Supplier & Procurement Ownership:

  • Brief suppliers/design studios on fixture updates and retail requirements
  • Source and compare quotes, negotiate costs, manage PO/invoicing, maintain budget trackers.
  • Maintain a preferred supplier network with quality and cost performance insights.
  • Support long-term planning – CAPEX forecasting, annual rollout pipelines, fixture refresh cadence.


Quality & Brand Experience:

  • Ensure builds deliver premium brand experience, visual impact and customer flow optimisation.
  • Conduct site visits pre/post-installation to check finish, compliance and VM readiness.
  • Consolidate learnings into local fixture guidelines and continuous improvement feedback loops.


Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 3-6 years of experience in a similar position from the beauty or FMCG Industry is essential. Exposure to department store or multi-brand environments preferred
  • Education: Education and/or experience in Interior Design or Visual Merchandising required Additional studies or certifications in Industrial Design, Retail Design, or Architecture is a plus
  • Languages: English


Skills:

Technical & Software Proficiency

  • AutoCAD (required)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign – essential)
  • SketchUp (advantage)
  • Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
  • Planogram experience and ability to interpret drawings/floorplans
  • Understanding of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and construction concepts
  • Experience with SAP, project planning tools, or digital asset platforms (desirable)


Design & Visualisation

  • Ability to think spatially and visually
  • Understanding flow, proportion, and functionality of spaces and fixtures
  • Translating ideas into cohesive design concepts


Commercial & Financial

  • Budgeting and cost management
  • Financial reconciliation of construction-related costs


Other

  • Current driver’s license and ability to travel locally/interstate
  • Willingness to assist with installations outside normal working hours


Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of retail construction environments with attention to detail and quality standards
  • Solid project management experience within Fragrance, Beauty, or Luxury Retail industries
