Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee electrical site safety and quality assurance in collaboration with the project team, ensuring all works comply with health, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Manage the overall project programme alongside the wider project team, consulting engineers, and client requirements, with a strong focus on accurate reporting to meet key milestones and deadlines
- Control all costs related to electrical work packages, ensuring materials and equipment are procured and delivered in line with the project schedule
- Manage project budgets, track expenditure, forecast costs, and administer variations and change orders
- Supervise day-to-day site activities for electrical contractors, monitoring progress against programme targets and workforce levels
- Ensure regular coordination meetings are held with subcontractors, including preparation and distribution of meeting minutes
- Attend and contribute to site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering and design reviews, coordination meetings, and handover meetings
- Manage project close-out activities including final accounts, operation and maintenance manuals, snag/punch lists, safety documentation, quality records, third-party inspections, and formal handover documentation
- Support engineering delivery by coordinating with key stakeholders such as client design teams, main contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Review drawings and technical specifications to fully understand project scope and design intent
- Oversee the coordination of design information into construction and installation drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and programme priorities
- Manage requests for information (RFIs), technical submissions, and approvals throughout the electrical design and construction phases
- Take technical ownership of quality for electrical design deliverables, as-built documentation, technical submissions, and O&M manuals
- Ensure all electrical packages meet applicable codes, standards, and specifications, providing technical guidance throughout installation, testing, validation, and client handover
- Define and manage scopes of work for electrical subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, budgets, and commercial constraints
- Assist with tender evaluations and cost analysis for electrical work packages
- Report regularly to the Project Manager and Commercial Manager on programme impacts, cost implications, and design changes
- Lead, motivate, and coordinate project teams, including engineers, electricians, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure efficient delivery
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding electrical packages, providing regular progress updates and performance reporting
- Prepare routine progress reports and escalate delays, risks, or issues as required
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks through structured risk reviews to ensure successful project delivery
- Coordinate closely with key stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget
- Develop and implement project execution strategies with particular focus on quality, environmental, health, and safety standards
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with agreed milestones
- Coordinate electrical activities with other trades and disciplines on site
- Develop and monitor labour projections and weekly performance indicators
- Plan and track material procurement schedules to support programme requirements
- Assist in the selection and appointment of subcontractors and supply chain partners in line with project specifications
- Attend client and project management meetings as required
- Coordinate the development of testing and commissioning procedures
- Ensure compliance with company policies, professional standards, and codes of conduct
Essential Criteria:
- Trade qualification and/or relevant third-level qualification
- Between five and ten years’ experience in a project management role
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and managing large-scale installation projects ideally data centres
- Experience handling industrial relations matters
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
- Experience working on design-and-build projects
- Solid technical understanding of electrical systems, with working knowledge of mechanical systems
- High level of IT proficiency
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to drive complex, large-scale projects
