Senior Android Developer - Kotlin, Video Streaming - Utrecht

Are you looking to join an established Dutch media company building a brand-new in-house mobile platform? You will take full ownership of developing a state-of-the-art white-label solution serving millions of users through well-known radio and video applications.

You will join a newly formed Scrum team consisting of a Product Owner, UX Designer, four native developers (iOS & Android), and a QA Automation Engineer. Together, you will build a platform based on latest technologies: native Kotlin for Android, combined with a GraphQL backend (AWS AppSync). The goal is maximum efficiency and scalability while making significant impact on user experience.

Your profile:

• 5+ years of professional experience as a native Android developer using Kotlin
• Knowledge of GraphQL (ideally AWS AppSync) and backend technologies such as Node.js
• Understanding of cloud-native development principles and experience with AWS; Docker/Kubernetes experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to act as technical sparring partner

Nice to have:

• Strong expertise in video streaming; experience with JW Player or similar solutions
• Proven experience implementing advertisements and paid content within video players
• Hands-on experience with casting technologies such as Chromecast
• "Getting things done" mindset with focus on solutions rather than problems
• Excellent command of the English language, as the team is international

Benefits:

• Salary up to €90,000
• Hybrid working (approximately 50/50)
