At Mercer, we strive to support all our staff to ensure that they can grow to meet their full potential. As such, although you will be working on all areas of the product design lifecycle, you will always be supported in each step until you are comfortable enough to carry out a project on your own. Supported by UX designers, you will be working with Product Managers and Software Engineers on everything related to innovative design.
As a UX Designer, you will be expected to increasingly be more comfortable with the following areas:
- Product experience design lifecycle (from concept to detailed specification to implementation) - that would include: user research, personas definition, IA, concept generation, detailed design, all within a user-centered framework.
- Defining, producing, and implementing the designs for a highly efficient and emotionally engaging UX within the delivery team made up of Software Engineers, Product Managers, and BAs.
- Work collaboratively with senior designers and contribute to the product experience design lifecycle;
- Conduct user research and define user personas to inform design decisions;
- Create detailed design specifications and prototypes to communicate design direction;
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Software Engineers to implement designs effectively;
- Continuously learn and adapt to new design tools and methodologies;
- minimum of 3-5 years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work in the field;
- Proficiency in prototyping tools to facilitate early user feedback, communicate design direction, and engage stakeholders in the decision-making process (e.g., FIGMA & Adobe Creative Suite);
- Understanding of web and mobile technologies, specifically the UX capabilities of leading platforms;
- Ability to think outside the box and a drive to solve complex problems.
- Strong interest in becoming an expert on the product, technology, and processes;
- High level understanding of the design process, why is important, the implication of “cutting corners”, and how to carry out one;
- Fluent in English; other languages a bonus;

- Some understanding of the Agile UX design and software development methodology as you will work in close collaboration with Engineers, you will become proficient with time;
- Theoretical and practical knowledge on how to run user research, from basic usability testing to more sophisticated exploratory research methodologies;
- BA/BSc in Interaction/Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Psychology, or related field. Knowing the theory in most cases does help the practice but a well rounded self thought designer is as good as master graduate
