Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute manual accessibility testing for web and mobile applications using assistive technologies and non-visual techniques
- Validate compliance with WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 AA success criteria across Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR) principles
- Perform screen reader testing using NVDA (Windows) and, where applicable, JAWS, VoiceOver (iOS/macOS), and TalkBack (Android)
- Validate ARIA roles, states, and properties, ensuring semantic correctness and proper name/role/value exposure
- Assess keyboard accessibility, focus management, visible focus indicators, and identify keyboard traps
- Conduct mobile accessibility testing, including touch target sizing, focus order, dynamic text, labels/hints, rotor actions, and platform-specific patterns
- Document accessibility defects with clear reproduction steps, impacted components, WCAG references, severity, and remediation guidance
- Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to triage issues, retest fixes, and track remediation progress in Jira/Azure DevOps
- Contribute to accessibility standards by creating reusable test cases, checklists, and UI pattern guidance (modals, menus, carousels, tables)
- Support shift-left accessibility by participating in early design and development reviews and advising on semantic HTML and ARIA best practices
