What to Expect:
Nestlé Canada is seeking an HR Specialist to join the Human Resources team at our Sterling Road Chocolate Factory in Toronto. This role will involve providing comprehensive HR services, including payroll duties, to our hourly and salaried employees. This position is an existing vacancy.
A day in the life:
- Maintain payroll processes and ensure accurate payroll administration
- Coordinate recruitment for various positions within the factory
- Process reference checks and follow up with employees regarding outstanding items
- Organize and set up factory visits
- Assist with data entry and order employee uniforms
- Perform administrative and filing tasks
- Coordinate and maintain factory documentation such as policies, guidelines, and SOPs
- Manage employee events administration (flowers, bereavement, etc.)
- Create and maintain the Human Resources Department POs
- Provide support to the Human Resources Manager, Generalist, and Director of Operations, including special projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
- University degree or college diploma in Human Resources or a related field, or a professional HR designation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
- Strong commitment to fostering cooperative working relationships and providing superior customer service
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Strong attention to detail and knowledge of processing payroll.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (especially Outlook, Word, and Excel); experience with Kronos is an asset
- Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills
- A strong work ethic and a desire to continuously improve HR processes
