Motion is building the first end-to-end agentic work suite for everyday businesses. Unlike point solutions or bolt-on tools, Motion was built from the ground up with AI agents at the core. Our platform already powers project management, documents, sheets, calendars, meetings, knowledge, and communication — and now we’re layering in AI Employees that can autonomously execute work across all of it.
What makes us different is that our agents are natively embedded in the platform. They’re not integrations, and they’re not copilots that just suggest things — they actually complete work with full access to data, context, and workflows. In just three months, AI Employees have grown from $0 to eight-figure ARR, and we’re only getting started.
With backing from YC and Sam Altman, a $500M+ valuation, and hundreds of thousands of users, we’re well positioned to lead. Now we’re building agents that work with extreme accuracy and unlock an order-of-magnitude boost in productivity.
Motion is intense, fast, and not for everyone. We're a great place to focus, learn, and accelerate your career. If you want to work with top talent, push yourself harder than you thought possible, and help redefine how AI gets deployed in the real world, then you’ll thrive here.
About The Role
We’re hiring a native iOS engineer to help build and evolve Motion’s iOS app as the product scales into a multi-product B2B platform.
This role is centered on native iOS development using Swift, with a strong focus on performance, responsiveness, and system-level integrations. You’ll work on making the app highly performant and reliable, while building native features such as voice calling, SMS, widgets, notifications, and background tasks.
You’ll play a key role in shaping mobile architecture and making long-term technical decisions, working closely with other senior engineers across the stack.
You will be a successful engineer at Motion if:
- You are ambitious and always looking for ways to improve. For most engineers, this role will give you the most responsibilities you’ve ever had, while holding you to higher standards than other companies you’ve worked at. Don’t rest on your past achievements — expect to work your hardest and do the best work of your career at Motion. You will receive lots of coaching and feedback that you should seek to grow from
- You can take ownership of projects and lead them to completion while dealing with ambiguity and finding the right balance between speed and quality. You don’t need every detail and edge case spelled out for you because you can figure out the goals of the project and fill in the blanks
- You are a fast learner and can quickly familiarize yourself with a complex product and code base. You aren’t afraid to tackle any part of the stack or learn a new unfamiliar technology. You are comfortable with the fact that working in a startup means working around tech debt
- You have a strong understanding of how you can create the most impact, and don’t get lost in the weeds in details that don’t matter. You’re excited to work on whatever solves the biggest customer problems, not just the coolest technical challenges
- You can collaborate effectively with other talented engineers and work well in an environment where the best ideas win. The median engineer at Motion has 9 years experience. You should expect your ideas to get challenged and to learn a lot from your coworkers
- Location: North America & Canada (remote)
- Base Salary: $270,000 - $375,000
- Bonus: $0 - $150,000
- Total Compensation: $504,000 - $965,000 (includes equity & bonus)
- The range listed reflects compensation for U.S.-based employees. For candidates outside the U.S., compensation will be adjusted to align with the local market and cost of living.
- Visa Sponsorship: We are able to provide employment visa sponsorship for qualified candidates. Applicants will be asked if they currently or in the future require visa sponsorship as part of the application process.
