The Cyber Security Analyst plays a critical role within the organisation’s Cyber Safety Program, helping to protect information and technology assets in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
This role offers the opportunity to work hands‑on with modern security technologies, tools, and frameworks, contributing directly to the organisation’s cyber resilience and risk posture. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, investigate and respond to security threats, and support the continuous improvement of security controls and practices.

Job Description
- Support cyber risk assessments across on‑prem, cloud, SaaS, and third‑party environments.
- Contribute to the implementation, tuning, and continuous improvement of security tools and controls.
- Monitor and analyse threats, vulnerabilities, and security events using platforms such as SIEM, firewalls, endpoint security, email and web security, DLP, and NDR.
- Investigate and respond to cyber incidents, including root cause analysis and lessons learned.
- Assist with security metrics, dashboards, and reporting to provide leadership visibility.
- Promote cyber security awareness and build trusted relationships across the business.
- Support governance, compliance, documentation, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Work with vendors and internal teams to ensure secure integrations and operations.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation as required (24/7).
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a similar cyber security role.
- Certifications or tertiary education related to Information Security, such as:
- CCNA Security Operations, CompTIA CySA+ or similar
- Microsoft security or any security tool specific certifications
- Relevant security experience with (or similar technology):
- Security Operation and Platforms: Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms including automation, Threat Hunting and Intelligence
- Network & Security: Firewalls, proxies, email filtering, endpoint detection and response, application whitelisting, routers, switches, micro-segmentation, NDR, DLP, SSE and web application firewalls.
- Platforms & Operating Systems: Microsoft O365, Azure, Windows Servers, and desktop OS, Linux/Unix OS, mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
- Security Testing: Web application security scans and reviews, vulnerability scanning, DevSecOps and penetration testing.
- Governance and Risk Assessment: Standard operating procedures, playbooks, guidelines and risk assessments.
- Reporting: Operational level reporting.
- Experience in IT, OT & IoT environments.
- Knowledge of Information Security principles and frameworks (AESCSF, ASD, NIST, ISO 27001).
