Responsible for the end-to-end management and recovery of aged debt (90+ days) accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. This includes negotiating customer-centric solutions, managing legal workflows, and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders to minimize financial loss.


Roles and responsibilities
Managing 90+ days accounts

  • End-to-end management of backend aged debt accounts
  • Negotiate solutions directly with customers with diplomacy and compassion
  • Extensive skip tracing to locate customers and engage them to secure Payment arrangements or finalise their accounts
  • Managing/Actioning Legal Workflow, meeting targets, following procedures and documents with attention to detail
  • Take decisions on Legal recovery

Managing External Relationships

  • Instructing Legal representatives to take appropriate legal action based on Individual files.
  • Liaise with Liquidators and Administrators
  • Engage with brokers to find resolutions
  • Maintain strong working relationships with mercantile agencies and auction houses.

Reporting

  • Prepare a weekly summary report for high-risk accounts and present it to the stakeholders.
  • Prepare Write-Off recommendations for the month in line with the policy
  • Report any system errors or process gaps to the manager for improvement


How to succeed
A passion for customer interactions and ability to build and nurture professional relationships will ensure success in the role.

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ recent experience in Legal Recoveries within either a commercial bank or finance company
  • Exposure to Hardship, Insolvency and Litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer and commercial collection procedures.
  • Experience in managing late stage collections and Legal processes.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of skip tracing processes.
  • Good understanding of Insolvency, Liquidation and Bankruptcy process.
  • Experience in an asset-backed collections environment is highly desirable
  • Sound understanding of current legislative requirements, Corporations Act, NCCP, PPSA, AML & CTF and Privacy Act
  • Must have full Australian working rights (citizen or PR)
