Front-End Developer

We are hiring a Senior Software Developer to help build and evolve a social media and news app available on both iOS and Android. This role is heavily focused on front-end development, feature expansion, and code quality. You will work closely with backend developers to shape APIs, improve performance, and refactor existing systems to be more robust and scalable. Full-time. Fully remote. Must be ENGLISH-SPEAKING.

Hours: 20 to 30 hours a week. Preferably CST time zone, but can be flexible.

Salary: $4,500/mo

Key Responsibilities:

• Build new front-end features and enhance existing functionality in a React Native codebase.
• Refactor existing components and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with backend developers to define API requirements and data contracts.
• Write clean, testable, and well-structured code.
• Evaluate and work with front-end libraries and frameworks, understanding tradeoffs and long-term implications.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Communicate clearly with teammates and stakeholders to move features from idea to production.

Key Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on React Native development experience.
• Strong experience with TypeScript and JavaScript in production environments.
• Proven software development experience shipping real-world applications.
• Solid understanding of front-end tooling, libraries, and frameworks, including their benefits and limitations.
• Ability to write high-quality, testable code.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.
• Comfortable working in a startup environment and adapting as the product evolves.

Nice to have:

• Previous startup experience.
• Experience working on consumer-facing or content-driven applications.
• Familiarity with mobile performance optimization or accessibility considerations.
