Senior Java Middleware Software Engineer

Tasks and Responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute to IT design, development, and information security activities, focusing on software components that support multiple Post-Trade IT applications. Key responsibilities include:
- Integrating Git repositories into the HP Fortify scanning process and addressing identified vulnerabilities
- Upgrading Java/JakartaEE integration components, including custom JMS (JCA) Resource Adapters and security modules; updating test suites and technical documentation
- Supporting migration of applications to JBoss EAP 8 using custom Resource Adapters
- Managing collaboration with development, infrastructure, and information security teams
- Working closely with domain experts and reporting to the Head of Unit
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science
- Hands-on experience with configuring, deploying, and supporting web application infrastructures, including Java application servers on Linux (preferably RedHat JBoss EAP)
- Strong Java development skills; knowledge of JakartaEE APIs (Connectors, Messaging, Transaction) is an advantage
- Ability to write code from scratch and make autonomous design decisions; analytical mindset and ability to quickly understand complex existing code
- Skilled in structuring and documenting IT architecture, design, and security concepts; excellent technical writing skills in English
Practical experience with:
- JMS messaging middleware (e.g., RedHat JBoss AMQ/ActiveMQ)
- Apache Maven
- IntelliJ and/or Eclipse IDE
- Linux OS
- Git
Additional assets:
- Experience with RedHat OpenShift, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
Languages:
- Proficiency in English; French and German are a plus
