DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe, delivering technology products and services for multiple business areas. The Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) supports the Risk divisions by defining IT strategy and providing solutions for Credit Risk, Market Risk and Non-Financial Risk.
In this role, you will work as a Technical Director within a global team, contributing to technology strategy, engineering practices, and the delivery of banking technology solutions
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and architectural leadership across multiple teams and platforms
- Validate and review technical solutions and architectural designs for business-critical systems
- Ensure alignment between technical implementation, enterprise architecture principles and business strategy
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and high-impact technical decisions
- Drive consistency in architectural patterns, engineering standards and best practices
- Support and mentor senior engineers and technical leaders, contributing to capability and maturity growth
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, Tribe Leads and other senior stakeholders
- Participate in discussions with senior and top management, contributing to decisions around priorities, risks and technical direction
- Bring clarity and structure in environments where requirements or ownership are not fully defined
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 20 years of experience in software engineering
- Strong expertise in Java and/or SQL / Oracle
- Proven experience designing and validating architectures for complex, large-scale platforms
- Solid understanding of distributed and multi-tier architectures, including microservices, integration patterns and data-centric architectures
- Experience working in public cloud environments (GCP, AWS or Azure)
- Strong quality mindset, with exposure to modern testing practices (TDD, BDD, contract and stress testing)
- Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and people management, particularly at senior level
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in banking or financial services is considered a strong advantage
