Job Summary (List Format) – DevOps Engineer (Architect Level, 15+ yrs)
- Provide 24x7 operational support for AWS RDS SQL Server environments, including production systems.
- Perform routine database administration: health checks, monitoring, patching, index management, capacity planning.
- Monitor and analyze database performance using Dynatrace and AWS CloudWatch; identify issues and drive remediation.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize poorly performing processes during incidents.
- Execute database backup/restore operations for environment refreshes and disaster recovery.
- Design, implement, and document disaster recovery processes and testing.
- Automate DBA tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and AWS-native tools.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and SOX, including auditing and access controls.
- Participate in on-call rotation, providing after-hours support as needed.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and recovery procedures.
- Work with platform and cloud engineering teams utilizing Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Support database deployments and changes using tools like Liquibase.
- Leverage strong skills in T-SQL, PowerShell, AWS services (CloudWatch, Lambda, SNS/SQS), and data integration (SSIS, Glue).
- Troubleshoot performance issues in large, highly available, and regulated SQL Server environments.
- Maintain strong documentation and operational detail orientation.
