Position Overview
The Cybersecurity Analyst (Entry–Mid Level) supports day-to-day cybersecurity operations by monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events across enterprise environments. This role contributes to protecting organizational assets by identifying threats, investigating alerts, supporting incident response, and assisting with vulnerability and risk management activities.
This position is ideal for a developing cybersecurity professional with hands-on technical exposure who understands how security controls operate in real-world environments and is eager to grow across detection, response, and risk-focused security functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and events across endpoint, network, cloud, and identity platforms
- Assist in triaging and investigating potential security incidents and suspicious activity
- Support incident response activities, including evidence collection, analysis, and post-incident reviews
- Assist with vulnerability identification, prioritization, remediation tracking, and validation
- Support security assessments, control reviews, and basic risk evaluations across systems and applications
- Collaborate with IT, cloud, and engineering teams to validate security controls and remediation efforts
- Document security findings, incidents, risks, and remediation actions in centralized tracking systems
- Support third-party and vendor security risk assessments as required
- Contribute to the development and refinement of security procedures, playbooks, and documentation
- Participate in audits, tabletop exercises, and security improvement initiatives as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 0–3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Cybersecurity operations or SOC support
- Security monitoring and incident analysis
- Vulnerability management or remediation support
- Risk, compliance, or security governance support
- Foundational understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, including:
- Threat detection and response
- Vulnerability and risk management
- Identity, endpoint, and network security
- Hands-on exposure to one or more security tools such as:
- SIEM platforms
- EDR/XDR solutions
- Vulnerability scanners
- Cloud security or identity platforms
- Strong analytical, investigative, and documentation skills
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a fast-paced security environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks or standards such as:
- NIST CSF or NIST RMF
- ISO/IEC 27001 / 27002
- CIS Critical Security Controls
- PCI DSS or SANS concepts
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Entry-level or foundational security certifications (e.g., Security+, SSCP, or equivalent)
