Project Development Manager– Wind, Solar & BESS | CEE (hybrid)

The Role

Leap29 is working alongside an established energy company with a long term strategy and project pipeline across the CEE Region. Our client are looking for a Project Development Manager to lead the origination and development of onshore wind, Solar and BESS projects, taking them from early-stage development through to Ready-to-Build and handover into construction and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Full end-to-end development ownership of wind, BESS and solar projects, from site identification through permitting, grid connection, and RTB
• Originate new development opportunities, including greenfield projects, land agreements, and strategic partnerships
• Lead permitting, environmental, and planning processes in CEE regions
• Define and manage grid connection strategies and relationships with TSOs and DSOs
• Coordinate internal teams (engineering, legal, commercial, finance, construction, and asset management) to ensure projects are optimised for long-term ownership
• Manage external advisors and consultants (environmental, technical, legal)
• Engage with municipalities, landowners, regulators, and local communities to secure and maintain social acceptance
• Support investment committee approvals, project valuations, and risk assessments
• Monitor regulatory, market, and technology developments impacting wind and storage
• Contribute to regional growth strategy and mentor junior development colleagues

Your Profile

• 3+ years’ experience in renewable energy project development, ideally within an IPP or long-term owner
• Strong track record developing onshore wind and/or BESS projects to RTB
• Solid understanding of permitting and regulatory frameworks in the CEE Regions
• Experience managing grid connection processes and stakeholder negotiations
• Commercially astute with experience supporting financial models and investment decisions
• Ability to manage complex projects across multiple disciplines
• Willingness to travel within the region as needed
