Your Role: Shape the Future of Mobility Tech

We’re transitioning from a legacy system to a modern microservices architecture, and you’ll play a pivotal role in that transformation. Our tech stack includes Java 21+, Spring Boot, Apache Camel, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and Azure Cloud.

You’ll collaborate closely with a driven development team, designing software used by cities, municipalities, and police departments with real social impact.

Your responsibilities:

• Lead the migration from legacy systems to a modern architecture
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to a high-performance engineering culture
• Implement best practices for testing, automation, and CI/CD
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps

Who are we looking for?

Must-have skills:

• Must speak Dutch as well as English fluently
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development
• Strong proficiency in Java 17+ (preferably Java 21) and Spring Boot
• Experience with designing scalable systems and APIs
• Cloud experience (Azure preferred)
• Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong communication skills and a team mindset
• Passion for writing clean, testable, and maintainable code

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience with Apache Camel or integration frameworks
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
• SaaS or B2B software experience
• Familiarity with domain-driven and event-driven architecture
