The Role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to take broad responsibility across the cloud infrastructure and operational landscape of multiple large-scale platforms.

You will act as an enabler for backend and engineering teams, ensuring uptime, security, and scalability while actively contributing to technical improvements and innovation. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys ownership beyond ticket-based operations and wants to directly influence how systems evolve.

The position offers high visibility and impact, supporting platforms used by very large daily user volumes.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and improve cloud infrastructure, with responsibility for uptime, security, and scalability
• Support and enable backend teams by building and maintaining reliable infrastructure foundations
• Proactively identify and implement performance, stability, and scalability improvements
• Design, implement, and maintain AWS-based systems, including serverless and containerised workloads
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code
• Operate and improve content delivery, caching, and queue-based architectures
• Monitor, secure, and troubleshoot production systems under real-world traffic conditions
• Collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders in a communication-driven, low-bureaucracy environment

Your Profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 5+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or backend-focused roles
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, particularly:

Lambda | Queues (e.g. SQS) | Object storage | Content delivery and caching

• Experience operating containerised workloads (ECS preferred; Kubernetes a plus)
• Solid understanding of scalable system design and high-traffic environments
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
• Comfortable working close to production systems and taking responsibility for outcomes
• Fluent English; German is a plus

Compensation

Up to CHF 130,000, depending on experience and overall fit.
