Our Infrastructure Department at Danfoss is looking for an experienced colleague - Lead Consultant for Regional WAN.
As our new colleague you shall be responsible for the management, optimization, and stability of our regional Wide Area Network (WAN). This position in alignment with international team and service owner involves managing Internet Service Provider (ISP) connections, negotiating contracts, resolving network connectivity issues, and optimizing the global network architecture. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in network engineering, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record of managing complex network environments.

What You’ll Be Doing
- ISP Management: To manage and optimize regional Internet Service Provider (ISP) connections to ensure network stability and performance. To coordinate with ISPs to implement network changes and upgrades.
- Contract Negotiation: To negotiate contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with ISP vendors to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness. To review and assess vendor performance against SLAs and to manage vendor relationships.
- Network Troubleshooting: To resolve cross-regional network connectivity issues in a timely and efficient manner. To perform root cause analysis of WAN incidents and implement preventative measures. To escalate complex issues.
- Network Optimization: To optimize global network architecture to improve performance, reliability, and security. To develop and implement network policies and procedures. To conduct regular network assessments and recommend improvements.
- Collaboration: To work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless network integration. To provide technical guidance and support to other team members and to participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Documentation: To maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. To create and maintain knowledge base articles for common network issues.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on WAN management. Proven experience managing ISP relationships and negotiating contracts. Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, VPN). Experience with network security best practices. Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Certifications (Preferred): Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent. Other relevant network certifications.
