Senior Fullstack Engineer (Backend Focus)

A rapidly growing health technology company is expanding its engineering team as it continues to scale across new markets and develop its platform into a broader ecosystem for preventative and data driven healthcare. With strong momentum behind them, the organisation is investing heavily in improving scalability, strengthening system reliability and security, and introducing new intelligent features powered by AI and modern automation.

About the Role

This position sits within the team responsible for managing the claims and case handling workflow within the product. The team’s work supports two main areas:

1. Internal Case Management Interface

• A core application used by internal specialists to review and process customer cases, providing the tooling required to make consistent and informed decisions.

2. AI and Automation of Case Handling

• A major focus for the organisation is to enhance and expand the intelligent automation capabilities within the platform. The team develops logic that analyses incoming cases, interprets documentation, and provides suggestions or full recommendations to reviewers. In many situations the system can autonomously process a case end to end, including determining an outcome and finalising any associated actions.

The team is currently small and led by an experienced Tech Lead who is now stepping into a more strategic role. Because of this, they are looking to bring in strong senior engineers who can take ownership, drive technical decisions, and help shape the next phase of the platform.

Requirements:

Ideally looking for well rounded product focused engineers with a backend leaning with experience in:

• 8 or more years of experience as a fullstack or backend oriented engineer
• Strong experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, Node JS and Python
• At least 5 years working with React and experience with Next JS
• A good understanding of architecture across both backend and frontend systems
• Experience working with networked systems and web technologies
• Curiosity and an interest in exploring new technologies including AI and LLM based tooling
• A product mindset with an ability to understand user needs and the broader goals behind what you are building

The wider stack also includes MongoDB, DynamoDB, GraphQL, Terraform and AWS. Engineers who have previously worked in mature high scale environments tend to thrive here, although this is not a requirement.
