The Role

We're seeking a Machine Learning Engineer / Data Scientist to lead our ML initiatives from ideation to production. You’ll design, train, and deploy models that power our at-home hormone test kits, predict symptoms and periods, and personalize the user experience inside our app. You will own the full ML workflow and deliver accurate, explainable, production-ready solutions for women’s health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, train, deploy, and maintain ML models integrated into our mobile app
  • Develop and train computer vision and object detection models for hormone test kits
  • Build and train data-driven predictive models for symptoms, periods, and cycle insights
  • Develop LLM applications and RAG pipelines
  • Design experiments, validate approaches, and analyze results
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and science teams to translate insights into features
  • Establish data pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and production monitoring
  • Make pragmatic decisions between experimental approaches and scalable production solutions in a fast-paced startup environment

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning and software development, with models deployed to production
  • MSc in Computer Science, Biomedical Data Science, Biostatistics, or related fields
  • Strong proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, FastAPI), SQL, and data warehouse architecture
  • Experience training computer vision and object detection models
  • Experience working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, etc.) and building RAG architectures
  • Strong statistical foundation and understanding of software design principles for maintainable, scalable code
  • Advanced image processing expertise
  • Experience with Git, cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud), and remote-first collaboration
  • Fluent English

Who You Are

You’re a connector at heart — someone who loves bringing people together and building relationships. You combine creativity with commercial thinking: you can dream up unforgettable community experiences while also finding the partners and sponsors who help make them happen. You’re resourceful, proactive, and thrive on creating impact in a way that’s both meaningful and cost-efficient.

Not Your Typical 9–5

This isn’t a standard job. At Hormona, we’re looking for someone with a unicorn mentality—creative, adaptable, and energized by challenges. You’ll thrive in a fast-moving environment, wear many hats, and help us push boundaries as we shape the future of female health.
