In response, a new AI Enablement Unit has been formed to lead the effort to define and implement an AI strategy and embed AI into the fabric of the MIC organization.
The newly established AI Lab sits within the AI Enablement Unit. It is tasked with developing new and innovative AI and ML-enabled tools and solutions specifically tailored to Mubadala use cases. These solutions are designed to solve critical business problems. The team’s focus is on research and POC development, and its work leverages cutting-edge techniques in generative AI, quantitative analysis, big data processing, optimization, and image and document processing. The team is supported by large engineering teams focused on productization and deployment-at-scale.

What you will do:
Support the newly established AI Lab in the following areas:
- Work across our business and investment teams, including supporting functions, to evaluate and implement new AI / ML use cases
- Bring deep and generalist data science / AI / ML expertise to solve real world business problems using appropriate data-led methods in a scalable way
- Provide support to investment and corporate platforms by bringing advanced analytics approaches to the investment life cycle and other supporting functions
- Assist in idea generation and validation of new AI initiatives across the MIC business and corporate functions and to support the formalization of a prioritized delivery roadmap
- Adhere to a strong discipline of model documentation and library development to enable scalability and transferability of advanced analytics projects to other business use cases
To succeed within this role, you will bring a strong mix of practical experience, technical skills, and business skills, including the following:
- A technical degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, financial engineering, or related field (a postgraduate degree, for example MSc or PhD, is considered an advantage)
- 5+ years of experience applying data science and AI / ML methods to deliver commercial impact, preferably within the areas of finance, investments or asset management
- Expertise in classical ML and statistical techniques (including, for example, tree-based methods, regression, deep learning, forecasting techniques, optimization methods, Bayesian methods, model evaluation metrics)
- Expertise in the latest techniques in generative AI (including, for example, agentic workflows, RAG systems, LLM fine tuning, vector databases, optimization and deployment)
- Advanced coding skills, principally in Python and SQL, with more diverse coding experience (e.g. Java, C++, JavaScript, others) considered an advantage
- Understanding of production grade engineering in AI, including familiarity with common cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), collaboration tools, and principals underpinning the design of complex, modular, scalable AI / ML services
- You will be a team player with high standards of business ethics and a drive to deliver, innovate and improve, whilst building strong partnerships within and outside Mubadala
- You will be an excellent communicator able to build relationships, communicate and influence both within the AI Enablement Unit, and the wider organization
