Front End Engineer (Geospatial)
12+ month contract
£500-£600/day

We are seeking a Front End Engineer to join a ground-breaking program that combines innovative software development with strategic nature recovery initiatives. This is a chance to play a key role in building a more sustainable future.
The Role
You'll be a core part of a multi-disciplinary team, working alongside a BA, Designer, Tech Lead, Engineers, and User Researcher. We are looking for a consultant, not just an engineer, and we value your ability to communicate effectively with clients, collaborate and innovate.
The team is AI-enabled, meaning you will have the opportunity to experiment and use AI tools like Cursor to accelerate your work and improve outcomes.
This is a remote role, with occasional travel to offices in Leeds, Manchester, or London (approximately once a month).
Your Skills
Must-have skills:
- Experience using the GOV Design Systems
- Exposure to AI tools like Cursor, Claude Code
- Expertise in Javascript & NodeJS
- Experience with Docker & AWS
Nice-to-have skills:
- Familiarity with Python
- Experience with mapping technologies such as Mapbox, Leaflet, OpenLayers, etc
The client is looking to interview candidates at short notice with the aim of commencing the contract in early February.
