STB Test Engineer/Specialist

Position Purpose Summary

The STB Test Engineer/Specialist is responsible for Test of BeIN set top boxes software in collaboration with middleware and set top box vendors. Ensure that software components such as drivers, middleware and applications (Electronic Program Guides and Video on Demand), are well integrated to the platform using best quality assurance practices in order to ensure a great customer experience

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

1. Perform manual testing of STB software and applications
2. Write scripts in order to program the test automation systems
3. Make intensive use of the set top box automatic test system in order to ensure robustness of the software.
4. Identify bugs, track and own resolution of the issues.
5. Participate in final software acceptances in collaboration with the vendors.
6. Generate lab test streams in order to test the compliance to MPEG and DVB-SI standards.

Education

High National Diploma degree or Bachelor Degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science.

Experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience at a middleware vendor, set top box manufacturer or a pay TV operator having deployed middleware based hybrid IP/SAT set top boxes.
