About the Role

The Senior Lead – Global Sourcing, within the Global Connectivity unit, is responsible for leading the company’s end-to-end sourcing operations and continuously enhancing sourcing effectiveness through analysis of spend, supplier partnerships, and new strategic opportunities.


Responsibilities


Business Relations

  • Cultivate and maintain strong collaborative relationships with telecom venders and suppliers to ensure alignment with company objectives and secure competitive pricing and terms.
  • Develops, manages and expands the relationship with wholesale suppliers
  • Develop forecasting plans which help implement cost optimization strategies.
  • Identify & pursue Strategic partnerships with Key Suppliers to drive innovation, enhance products offering & game competitive advantages.
  • Assess & mitigate risks associated with supplier’s relationships, such as supply chain disruptions, regulatory compliance and geopolitical factors to ensure business continuity & resilience.
  • Stay informed about market trends, emerging technologies & regulatory developments in the telecom industry to anticipate changes in supply & demand dynamics and make informed sourcing decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the sourcing function, such as process optimization, cost reduction efforts and supplier innovation programs to enhance efficiency, reduce waste and maximize value for the company.
  • Develop and implement metrics and KPIs to assess supplier performance including quality, delivery, and responsiveness. Proactively address any issue or discrepancies to uphold services standers and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to achieve favorable pricing, terms, and service levels. Manage contract lifecycles including drafting, review and renewal to mitigate risks and optimize coast effectiveness


Business Strategies

  • Manage the company’s supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending
  • Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
  • Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure.
  • Invent negotiation strategies and secure profitable deals.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Estimate risks and apply risk minimizing techniques.
  • Discover and partner with trustworthy vendors and suppliers.
  • Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers


Operational

  • Support sourcing and procurement business (suppliers, contracts and catalog set up, suppliers risk management, purchase requests approvals, invoices discrepancies issues).
  • Asist end uses, troubleshoot, and track operational issues.
  • Administer and set up tools, data base, content management, integrity, consistency, and accuracy controls.
  • Extract and consolidate data from sourcing system and run reports.
  • Provide indicators on sourcing performance.
  • Ensure business rules and governance are well applied.
  • Consolidate and share best practice and knowledge.
  • coordinates specific subjects, manages interlocks with other entities outside Sourcing.
  • elaborate new ways of working, improve processes and tools - sourcing or extra sourcing- to improve sourcing performance.
  • Leads and supports sourcing projects for the category / categories from requirement gathering to contracting.
  • Leads and supports sourcing activities, (e.g. launches e-auction / RFPs / RFIs / RFQs) and drives significant cost savings.
  • Full people management responsibility for a team of category
  • management professionals and defines team operating standards, sets direction, and enables performance.
  • Ensures the purchasing and contracting activities are executed in a professional way, in line with standards and local targets, and suggests improvements.
  • Ensures savings are effectively delivered against category targets and timeframes.
  • Demonstrates sound negotiating techniques to enable cost and value management and develop negotiation strategies in accordance with the agreed procurement models for these activities.
  • Ensures the effective use of performance management and measurement tools to drive improvements against agreed performance/cost improvement goals and to facilitate best practice amongst team members / colleagues.

May contribute to global policy design and ensure compliance to policies locally.


Qualifications

Bachelor's in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, or a related field


Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Telecommunications overall & 3 years in Submarine Cable Industry on the wholesales procurement side.
