About the job:
Based in Mons you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join the NATO Infrastructure Services Centre (NISC), which is accountable for planning and executing the full lifecycle management activities (design, transition and operations) for the identified area of responsibility. NISC provides generic, domain independent, technical functionality that enables and facilitates the operation and use of Information Technology resources.
The team designs, operates and sustains enterprise and mission-critical network infrastructures supporting NATO operational environments. It delivers deployable network capabilities enabling resilient, secure and interoperable Command and Control (C2) environments.
This role is intended for a highly capable engineer expected to operate with a high degree of technical autonomy in complex, mission-critical and time-sensitive environments.
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Network Engineer, internally advertised as Principal Technician (Digital Communication Services) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:
- Configure, operate and maintain core network infrastructure.
- Support network design activities within complex environments.
- Troubleshoot network incidents end-to-end and execute controlled network changes.
- Optimise network performance and support network monitoring and operational visibility.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to support mission-critical network services.
About you:
- The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:
- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 3 years post-related experience.
- Or a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related experience required
- Core IP routing in complex operational environment
- Network monitoring, fault analysis and operational discipline.
- Change and configuration management in regulated, mission-critical environments.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
