📄 Job Description

Today we're looking for an experienced Android Tech Lead who will lead our Android Chapter at Veepee.

As the Android Tech Lead, you will be responsible for guiding the technical direction of the entire Android platform across all product teams. You will lead and mentor Android developers distributed across various squads (such as Navigation, Orderpipe, Sales, and more), ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation across all Android initiatives.

This is a strategic role that combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, where you'll shape the future of our Android applications while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the Android community.

🎯 TASKS

  • Lead the Android Chapter, providing technical guidance and mentorship to Android developers across multiple squads;
  • Define and drive the Android technical strategy, architecture patterns, and technology roadmap;
  • Establish and maintain Android coding standards, best practices, and development guidelines across the organization;
  • Champion architectural decisions and ensure consistency across all Android projects;
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing through tech talks, workshops, and documentation;
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and other Tech Leads to align technical decisions with business objectives;
  • Conduct and coordinate code reviews, promoting high-quality code across all teams;
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and improvements to the Android ecosystem;
  • Monitor and improve application performance, stability, and user experience across all Android products;
  • Lead technical discussions and decision-making processes at the platform level;
  • Ensure CI/CD processes are optimized and followed across all Android projects;
  • Foster innovation and participate in prototyping new features and solutions;
  • Support the recruitment process by evaluating technical candidates and defining hiring standards;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Android-related technical matters


👉 MUST HAVE Skills

  • At least 7+ years of experience in building Android applications with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or chapter lead role;
  • Deep expertise in Kotlin and solid understanding of Java;
  • Proven experience architecting and scaling Android applications in complex environments;
  • Strong experience with modern Android architecture components;
  • Advanced knowledge of dependency injection frameworks;
  • Expert knowledge of Android Studio, Android SDK, and the Android ecosystem;
  • Proven ability to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines;
  • Experience with reactive programming;
  • Strong skills in unit and UI testing, with ability to define organization-wide testing strategies;
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and inspire developers at various levels;
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills in a cross-functional environment;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Ability to influence and drive technical decisions across multiple teams;
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)


👉 NICE TO HAVE Skills

  • Previous experience working in Agile/Scrum environments as a Chapter Lead or similar role;
  • Experience with multi-module architecture and modularization strategies at scale;
  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques, tools, and monitoring solutions;
  • Experience with A/B testing frameworks and feature flagging;
  • Understanding of backend technologies and API design principles;
  • Experience with mobile DevOps and release management processes;
  • Familiarity with iOS development to facilitate cross-platform discussions
