We are looking for an experienced PHP developer to start as soon as possible, and support an ongoing project in the healthcare domain.
The project focuses on developing a software solution for local health institutions in Germany.
This is a freelance position, we are looking for someone to join our subcontractors in delivering this solution, with possibility of long term cooperation.

We are looking for an experienced PHP developer to start as soon as possible, and support an ongoing project in the healthcare domain.

Your Mission with Us
- Collaborate with globally distributed teams, including Nortal and an external subcontractor
- Translate application requirements, storyboards, and use cases into functional PHP applications
- Contribute to feature development and stabilization of an existing system
- Improve performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
- Diagnose, fix, and coordinate deployment of bug fixes
- Troubleshoot issues in deployed systems
- Create and maintain technical documentation for technical stakeholders
- Actively contribute to standups and agile team collaboration
What Convinces Us
- Strong, hands-on experience with PHP 8 (active production experience within the last 3 years is required)
- 3+ years of experience as a backend developer
- Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL, and schema design (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience working with version control systems, preferably Git
- Good understanding of common design patterns (e.g. Singleton, Factory, Strategy, Observer, Builder, Adapter, State)
- Proficiency in unit testing, including mock testing
- Experience with performance and integration testing
- Very good communication skills (spoken and written)
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in German language
- Experience working on complex, data-heavy or regulated systems (e.g. healthcare, public sector)
- Experience collaborating with external vendors or subcontractors
- Prior experience in international or distributed teams
