I’m currently supporting a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer to join a 8 Month Extendable Contract in Walldorf. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex enterprise environments and enjoys being hands‑on with cutting‑edge network technologies.
You’ll be embedded within the network, providing expert support across troubleshooting, critical incident escalation, proactive change management, and design validation. The position also involves working with an established lab environment to test cross‑regional SDA functionalities and contribute to knowledge transfer across operational teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting ongoing network design and rollout activities, including reviewing change requirements and advising on best‑practice implementation.
- Participating in design workshops and service meetings, offering guidance on risks, impacts, and optimisation opportunities.
- Assisting with IPv6 design and rollout across the office network.
- Using lab infrastructure to validate SDA scenarios, test use cases, and support PoC activities.
- Acting as a key technical contact during change windows, including preparation, standby support, and configuration assistance.
- Troubleshooting complex issues, performing impact and risk assessments, and contributing to root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Delivering knowledge‑sharing sessions to strengthen operational capability across teams.
Required Technical Experience (Minimum 2 Years)
- DNAC / Catalyst Center (provisioning, assurance, operations)
- Software‑Defined Access (LISP, SDA components, micro‑segmentation, DNAC/ISE integration)
- Catalyst 9000 series switches (9200‑CX, 9300, 9500, 9600)
- IPv4/IPv6 routing (BGP, IS‑IS, OSPF)
Nice to Have
- IPv4/IPv6 Multicast
- Scripting / DevOps exposure (Python, Ansible, Robot Framework)
