Senior Software Developer(.NET)

📍 Cork – Hybrid

A FinTech company based in Cork City is continuing to grow its engineering team and is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in shaping and evolving a core, data-driven platform used by financial institutions.

This is a hands-on senior role where you’ll work on complex systems, influence technical direction, and help modernise and scale a high-performance application.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design, build, and maintain high-quality, scalable software solutions
• Work across the full software development lifecycle, from design through delivery
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help drive best engineering practices
• Optimise application and database performance for large-scale data processing
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and Engineering teams
• Take ownership of existing codebases and improve reliability, performance, and maintainability
• Help identify technical debt and lead efforts to modernise legacy components

What you’ll need to have:

• 8+ years’ experience in software development
• Strong recent experience with .NET (.NET 6/7/8 preferred, .NET Core minimum)
• Proficient C# development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database, including:
• Stored procedures
• Query optimisation
• Performance tuning
• Experience migrating business logic from databases to API / application layers
• Proven experience working with large-scale data systems (millions of records)
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, iterative delivery)
• Strong understanding of software architecture, performance, and scalability
