Cyber Security Specialist

Worktype: Hybrid (1/2 days per week onsite)

As a Cybersecurity Specialist at our company, you combine technical expertise with a pragmatic mindset to protect our systems against cyber threats. You focus on operational security tasks such as monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and patch management. In addition, you have experience with penetration testing and are able to translate findings into policy improvements and audit outcomes. Your contribution is essential to safeguarding our organization against information security risks, supported by your knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring systems and networks and handling security incidents.
• Proactively identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities in our systems.
• Prioritizing and coordinating patching and mitigation activities.
• Performing penetration tests and linking results to security policies and audit processes.
• Configuring and managing endpoint protection and antivirus solutions, including Trellix ePO and ClamAV.
• Interpreting and applying ISO 27001 controls within our managed environment.
• Automating security tasks using Python or Bash scripting.

Characteristics and Skills

• Knowledge of and experience with Linux systems and penetration testing.
• Proficiency with technologies such as Windows and Linux, Active Directory, Trellix ePO and ClamAV, RBAC, virtualization, Ansible, and GitLab.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent risk assessment abilities.
• Self-directed, a team player, and detail-oriented.

Additional Skills & Experience

• Certifications such as CEH, OSCP, CompTIA Security+, and CySA+ are highly recommended.
• Expertise in designing complex security architectures and understanding the architectural principles behind secure network configurations.
• Ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
• Collaboration with other teams to share insights and improve the overall security strategy.
