DevOps Engineer (AWS)

For this role, you will work with one of our clients in the utilities sector, contributing to business-critical platforms that support energy and infrastructure services used by millions of people.
The role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will strengthen a cloud-native engineering team within the utilities domain. You’ll help design, automate, and operate scalable platforms on AWS, with a strong focus on Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD automation.
You will have significant autonomy to improve automation and platform reliability, while collaborating closely with backend engineers working in Java, with a gradual transition towards Kotlin.
What you’ll do:
- Design, build, and operate AWS-based cloud infrastructure
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters in production
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Improve and automate CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with software engineers using Java and Kotlin
- Ensure platform reliability, security, and scalability
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance
- Actively identify opportunities for automation and improvement
What you bring:
- Medior or senior-level experience as a DevOps Engineer
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS
- Proven experience with Kubernetes in production
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code
- Working knowledge of Java/Kotlin
- An autonomous mindset and strong focus on automation
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Availability to work on-site in Arnhem 2 days per week
