We interview on an ongoing basis. Please submit your application sooner rather than later.

We are looking for a Data Scientist to help build a rigorous, scientific and experiment driven foundation for our retrieval and training data attribution capabilities at Redpine. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing experiments, data pipelines, and evaluation frameworks that show when, why, and how data and retrieval choices improve real-world AI performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and run rigorous experiments on retrieval and RAG pipelines, comparing different chunking, retrieval, and reranking strategies across internal and external benchmarks.
  • Conduct research and prototyping around training data attribution and data valuation, helping assess how different datasets and data sources affect model behavior and performance.
  • Analyze and quantify the impact of different training datasets and retrieval configurations on model performance, and use these insights to prototype and optimize robust, scalable, and well-instrumented matching and retrieval algorithms for the company’s API/MCP platform.
  • Collaborate closely with founding data scientist, founding engineer, the technical staff, and other stakeholders to define experiments, interpret results, and prioritize improvements in data and retrieval quality.

Qualifications

  • Master’s in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related quantitative STEM field.
  • Proficiency in Python and common ML/data tooling (e.g., PyTorch or similar frameworks, vector search/IR libraries, SQL/NoSQL, data processing stacks).
  • Experience working with large datasets and building end-to-end data or ML pipelines (from preprocessing and feature extraction to evaluation and reporting).
  • Experience with fine-tuning language models or other ML models on domain-specific datasets is a strong plus.
  • Comfort with modern software engineering practices (Git, containers, basic cloud/MLOps concepts) in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to turn experimental results into clear recommendations in a fast-paced startup setting.

Why join Redpine?

  • Be part of a cutting-edge company shaping the future of data in AI.
  • Work in a global-first, AI-native environment with industry-leading professionals.
  • Enjoy a competitive base salary with significant equity upside.
  • Engage with top-tier partners across AI, finance, publishing, healthcare, and more.

About Redpine

Redpine is an AI-native, global-first company building the knowledge layer for AI. We unlock compliant access to high-quality, non-public, multi-modal data in fields like medicine, science, law, and finance, enabling data owners to monetize their content in a controlled way.

We embrace a culture of curiosity, speed, innovation and excellence. We believe in continuous learning, experimentation, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in AI technology. You'll be working closely with the founding team, including Anders (ex-partner at VC, McKinsey), and David (ex-tech and product leader at unicorn companies Spotify, Zettle and Lunar).

We prioritize an office-first culture (in Stockholm) to fuel collaboration and connection, but we’re big on autonomy - for those days you need a "deep work" day at home or have life admin to handle.

If you are eager to make a meaningful impact in the AI space, we’d love to hear from you. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team: if you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway.
