About the Role: On behalf of an advanced technology client in Abu Dhabi, we are hiring an experienced Java Software Engineer to join a high-performance application software team. This role focuses on the design and development of backend software for next-generation cellular and secure communication systems, operating in a complex, distributed, and performance-critical environment.

Responsibilities:

• Research, design, and develop cutting-edge cellular communication solutions using Kotlin, Java, Akka, Gradle, GitLab, and Docker.
• Design and implement backend systems based on Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Reactive architectures, and actor-based systems.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including unit, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) testing.
• Build scalable, message-based, and high-performance backend services.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, system architects, and product managers to deliver robust technical solutions.
• Contribute to technological and architectural decisions.
• Work within multi-disciplinary Agile teams, adopting Agile methodologies, tools, and mindset.

Qualifications:

• BSc or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in Java and Kotlin software development

Required Skills:

• Strong experience with functional programming, message-based communication, Reactive programming, DDD, and TDD
• Ability to read technical documentation and develop tools based on specifications
• Self-directed profile with strong planning and execution capabilities
• Team player with experience working in Agile environments
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Flexible attitude with the ability to perform under pressure
