We are hiring a Level 2 Network & IT Operations Engineer for our client, to support and maintain enterprise network and IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with SLAs and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver preventative and reactive maintenance across network and hosting environments.
- Provide L2 support for LAN, WAN, WLAN, routing, switching, and enterprise systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and infrastructure incidents within SLAs.
- Configure and support Layer 2/3 networking (VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP/VRRP).
- Support Wi-Fi networks (AP provisioning, controllers, RF optimization, troubleshooting).
- Execute network changes, upgrades, patching, firmware updates, and hardware replacements with proper documentation.
- Monitor performance using NMS tools and proactively address issues.
- Work with L3 teams, vendors, and ISPs on escalations and projects.
- Support site rollouts, migrations, and infrastructure expansions.
- Maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, asset records, and audit requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance.
Technical Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in enterprise routing & switching and hardware installation.
- Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, STP/RSTP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, NAT, ACLs, QoS.
- Experience with Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax), wireless controllers, and RF troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Alcatel, or equivalent.
- Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools (SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark, SolarWinds).
- Basic understanding of network security (firewalls, NAC, VPN).
- Exposure to data centre environments and vendor coordination.
Preferred
- CCNA / CCNP or equivalent certifications.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with an ownership-driven mindset.
