What's the Opportunity?
We are looking for an AI Team Leader to lead the adoption, operation, and evolution of AI systems, including internal and third-party LLM-based assistants and agents, used across the company.
This role combines a strong technical understanding of AI systems with a clear focus on enabling end-users, ensuring that AI solutions are reliable, scalable, safe, and genuinely useful in everyday workflows. You will act as the owner of AI systems from an operational and adoption perspective, working closely with both business teams and technical counterparts.
You will work with and leverage AI services from leading providers such as AWS, Anthropic, OpenAI and Google, selecting, operating, and governing these solutions as part of dLocal’s internal AI ecosystem.
What Will I Be Doing?
- AI System Ownership & Operations
- Own the lifecycle and day-to-day operation of company-wide AI systems, including both internal solutions and third-party tools
- Ensure AI assistants and agents operate reliably at scale, balancing performance, cost, security, and usability
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external vendors to manage integrations, changes, and improvements
- AI Enablement & User Experience
- Work in partnership with Product to identify, prioritize, and shape AI capabilities that deliver clear user and business value
- Act as a facilitator between AI capabilities and business needs, helping teams across the company leverage AI effectively
- Partner with stakeholders to identify high-value use cases and translate them into practical AI-powered workflows
- Design onboarding, documentation, and enablement materials to support widespread adoption
- Best Practices & Governance
- Define, document, and promote best practices for prompt design, context management, evaluation, and safe usage of AI systems
- Establish standards for handling context, data boundaries, and model behavior across assistants and agents
- Monitor usage, quality, and risks, ensuring alignment with internal policies and responsible AI principles
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Data, Engineering, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure AI systems meet organizational standards
- Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously improve AI systems and ways of working. Support change management initiatives related to AI adoption across the company
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field
- Proven experience applying AI and LLM-based systems in real-world environments, including assistants and agents used at scale
- Solid understanding of the technology stack behind AI systems (LLMs, APIs, orchestration, prompt and context management, evaluation, cloud platforms), with the ability to guide technical decisions
- Practical knowledge in building and deploying microservices.Capability to integrate third-party APIs and AI services
- Experience with code versioning (GitHub, BitBucket, or similar)
- Experience with monitoring applications in production
- Hands-on experience with AWS. GCP is a plus
- Experience leading and developing engineers, providing technical direction, prioritization, and support while fostering high standards and autonomy
- Strong ability to work in close partnership with Product, contributing to discovery, prioritization, and shaping AI capabilities that deliver clear user and business value
- Strong communication skills, able to bridge between engineers, product managers, and business users
- Experience defining standards, processes, and best practices in fast-evolving technical environments
- Comfortable working with external vendors and third-party AI services
- High level of ownership, accountability, and execution focus
- Advanced/fluent English
