Payment Data Analyst

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a Payment Data Analyst to own and develop payment analytics across our platform. In this role, you will work closely with business, finance, and operations teams to analyze payment flows, build dashboards in Looker or similar program, and ensure data accuracy for internal decision-making and external partners.

This is a hands-on role with high impact, suitable for someone who enjoys working with transactional data and building analytics processes from scratch.

RESPOBSIBILITIES:

Payment Flow Analytics

• Analyze payment transactions: volumes, turnover, fees, declined transactions
• Monitor key payment metrics such as approval rate, decline rate, chargebacks, and refunds
• Analyze performance of payment providers and payment methods

Reporting

• Build and maintain business dashboards in Looker or similar program
• Develop and maintain data models
• Set up regular and ad-hoc reporting for internal stakeholders
• Ensure data quality, metric consistency, and clear definitions

Business Support

• Prepare analytical insights for negotiations with payment partners
• Provide analytics support for sales, finance, and operations teams
• Answer ad-hoc questions related to payment performance and metrics
• Prepare data for financial and regulatory reporting

REQUIREMENTS:

Must Have

• 2+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably in fintech or payments
• Strong SQL skills (joins, aggregations, window functions)
• Hands-on experience with Looker or similar BI tools
• Understanding of payment processes (acquiring, PSPs, card schemes)
• Experience building business dashboards for non-technical users

Nice to Have

• Experience reconciling financial and payment data
• Understanding of chargeback flows and antifraud processes
• Experience working with multiple PSPs
