Senior Software Engineer, React Native
Vienna
We’re partnering with a rapidly scaling AI startup headquartered in Vienna that’s building an advanced AI product for the automotive sector. They’re looking to make an early mobile engineering hire who will play a key role in shaping and scaling their mobile applications from the ground up.
This is a hands-on, product-focused role where you’ll work on production-grade mobile apps tightly integrated with backend and AI systems. You’ll have real ownership, strong technical influence, and the opportunity to define best practices for mobile development as the company grows.

What you’ll be doing
- Building and maintaining mobile applications using React Native with Expo
- Working end-to-end across UI, application logic, and backend integrations
- Integrating mobile clients with existing TypeScript APIs and services
- Contributing to shared architecture, patterns, and tooling across web and mobile
- Collaborating closely with product, AI, and backend engineers
- Owning features from initial concept through to production release
What they’re looking for
- Strong professional experience with TypeScript
- Daily use of modern AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code, or similar)
- Production experience building mobile apps with React Native
- Proven ability to deliver performant, native-feeling mobile UIs, including platform-specific patterns
- Experience with tRPC
- Comfortable working with TanStack React Query
- Experience with modern TypeScript ORMs such as Prisma or Drizzle
- Familiarity with frameworks such as Next.js, Remix, React Router, or TanStack Router
- Fluent English communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience with Vercel AI SDK
- Exposure to streaming or real-time data
- German language skills (any level)
Big advantages
- Based in Vienna, Austria
- Deep hands-on experience with tRPC
- Background in voice agents or conversational AI
- Native mobile development experience (iOS and/or Android)
- Real-time application experience
- Strong design engineering instincts (UI/UX judgment, design systems, polished mobile interfaces)
