AI Specialist
We are looking for an AI Specialist to join our Data & AI unit. The position is permanent and full-time in our AI Capabilities team. In this role, you will help establish and run Veikkaus’ AI governance and operating model across all AI use, drive EU AI Act readiness and alignment with ISO 42001 and build organizational capability through company-wide AI literacy, training, and an AI Champions network. You will partner closely with business, technology, data, legal/compliance and security to ensure responsible, effective and scalable AI adoption.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- AI governance and operating model
- Establish and operate Veikkaus’ AI governance (EU AI Act / ISO 42001 alignment, roles and responsibilities, decision forums, review gates, model lifecycle etc).
- Maintain AI policies, standards and guidance; run the AI use case intake, register/inventory and documentation practices.
- Community building and internal communication
- Build and run an AI Community of Practice.
- Facilitate an AI Champions network and promote internal storytelling of AI wins and lessons learned to drive momentum and adoption and share best practices across units.
- Design and deliver AI literacy pathways, playbooks and enablement materials for different role families.
- Strategy and roadmap support
- Support the company-wide AI roadmap and portfolio prioritization in line with business objectives and operating model.
- Define and track adoption and value metrics; report progress and lessons learned to stakeholders.
- Stakeholder engagement
- Partner with Business, Data & Analytics, Technology, Legal/Compliance and Security; manage expectations, feedback loops and change impacts.
- Proven experience operationalizing AI governance in an enterprise setting (policies, processes, roles, documentation and oversight).
- Working knowledge of EU AI Act requirements and alignment with standards/frameworks.
- Experience designing and delivering organization-wide enablement (training programs, playbooks, communities of practice/Champions).
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills; ability to translate between business, legal/compliance and technical teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and pragmatically about risk vs. value.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain AI concepts and governance in plain language to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent oral and written proficiency in English (Finnish is an advantage).
- Cybersecurity experience and willingness to act as the team’s “Security Champion” for AI.
- Familiarity with AI/ML development and operations (Python/ML tooling, MLOps practices, cloud platforms such as Azure/AWS/GCP) to collaborate effectively with engineering.
- Background in data governance, privacy by design and GDPR.
- A relevant higher education degree (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or related field).
- Understanding of the gambling, gaming, or other customer-centric industries.

The position is located at Veikkaus’ headquarters in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. We work flexibly in a hybrid model. To foster collaboration and effective teamwork, we meet at the office three times a week.
